According to the July 1, 2004 population estimate, Grant County’s population is 29,443 people. Our labor force draws from a four–county area of Catron, Grant, Hildalgo and Luna counties.

Traditions of working in agriculture, ranching, forestry, mining, pioneering and education lay a solid foundation for a productive work force with a sound work ethic.

As we have moved forward into 2005 our numbers have dropped slightly in the Grant County area. Today per the US Census data Silver City has an estimated population of 10,054. (Link Population census here) Due to the largest employer laying off employees and the next largest employer closing down, a small fluctuation of population has taken place.
